This one-hour in-person detailed pain assessment is conducted by a trained clinician who evaluates and collects information about the patient’s pain characteristics and severity, and measures other factors including range of motion, trigger point mapping, and pain pressure threshold to diagnose the nature of the chronic pain.
This assessment can inform physicians in the development of a personalized treatment plan.
MoveAway Pain is an exercise education program with our kinesiologist.
Patients receive personalized exercises encouraging greater physical activity to manage chronic pain.
Patient's physical activity is monitored over 10 days using a provided FitBit. This information can be used to help understand a patient’s level of deconditioning.
Optional evaluation of continuous glucose monitor (Dexcom G6) is available, but please note there is a $175 cost for the monitor.
EMG and NCS are tests that evaluate the peripheral nervous system to better understand the cause of a patient's pain, determine the extent and severity of the injury, and provide guidance on treatment and prognosis for recovery.
Chiropractors can assess and treat problems involving joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and the spine.
Chiropractors can perform soft tissue therapies, prescribe exercise and use a variety of therapy techniques to treat musculoskeletal problems (e.g. back, neck, and joint pain) including:
· Acupuncture
· Soft Tissue Mobilization
· Spinal Manipulation Therapy
· Kinesiology Taping
· Therapeutic Exercise/ Exercise Prescription
Initial consultations range from $65 - $160 per visit and are 60 - 90 minutes long.
Follow-up visits range from $50 - $95 per visit and are 30 minutes long.

Kinesiology, or exercise rehabilitation, is ideal for patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries or chronic conditions. We offer:
· Exercise Rehabilitation Programs
· Manual Rehabilitative Techniques (e.g. soft tissue release, fascial stretch therapy)
· Nutrition Counselling
· Aquatic Rehab (coming soon)
Initial consultations are $115 per visit and are 60 minutes long.
Follow-up visits are $70 per visit and are 30 minutes long.

Psychotherapists are health care professionals that use talk-based therapy to help people improve and maintain their mental health and well-being.
They work together with the patient to bring about positive change in the patient's thoughts, feelings, behaviour and social functioning. They can use a variety of techniques to help treat patients with trauma, illness, mental health disorders or general emotional well-being.

Chiropractic care, physiotherapy, massage therapy, kinesiology, psychology counseling, social work, and orthobiologic treatments are not covered by OHIP. Some of these services may be partially or fully covered by extended health insurance plans. The coverage for each carrier is different; please check your plan to see what coverage is available for the type of service you are seeking.
Direct billing to the extended health insurance carrier is not provided at our clinic. Our clinic will provide patients with a receipt so they can claim the services through their health insurance provider for reimbursement.
Patients will be charged a fee for treatments that are not covered by extended health insurance plans. Please refer to the “Fee Schedule” section to find the treatment fees for different services offered at our clinic.

University Centre does not have its own parking lot. However, there are several public parking garages close by, including on Murray Street (directly behind University Centre).
Street parking is restricted on the streets around our hospitals. Some street parking is available on nearby side streets. Please read parking signs carefully.
